The City of Devils Lake, a community of approximately 7,200 in NE North Dakota, is accepting applications for the position of Police Chief. Through the Chief of Police, the department is responsible for the enforcement of all laws coming within its legal jurisdiction; the Chief of Police is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, controlling and staffing all activities of the department and is responsible for its continued and efficient operation, for the enforcement of rules and regulations within the department, and for the department's relations with local citizens, the local government, and other related agencies.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and management skills and must pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug test. Minimum Qualifications include a North Dakota driver’s license and Peace Officers license and 10 years of law enforcement experience (including 5 in a supervisory role); an Associate’s degree and extensive supervisory experience is preferred.

Salary range: $92-436 - $126,744.
