Duties
The City Water/Sewer Department oversees the operation and maintenance of the City’s sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water infrastructure in an effort to supply and dispose of water for City residents while meeting the quality requirements of public health and safety at a reasonable cost. The Water/Sewer Department is responsible for the following:
- City of Devils Lake Water Treatment Plant
- City of Devils Lake Well Field
- Lemna Wastewater Treatment Facility
- Sanitary Sewer Infrastructure
- Sanitary Sewer Lift Stations
- Storm Sewer Infrastructure
- Storm Sewer Lift Stations
- Water Distribution Network
Tapping Permit
Prior to tapping and making a connection to any City-owned water, sanitary sewer or storm sewer main a tapping permit must be completed and returned to the Utilities Supervisor. As part of the permit, City Utility crews must be on-site prior to and during the work to inspect all connections.
