2023 Construction Season Project Map

City Project 230101 – Subgrade Repair and Gravel Overlay

Project consists of subgrade repair and gravel overlay along 14th St NE from east of 5th Ave NE to 14th Ave NE and 14th Ave NE from north of 10th St NE to 14th St NE. Project is scheduled to be bid May 12th, 2023. As part of the project, 14th St NE will be closed for short duration to allow for the subgrade repair work to be completed. The remainder of the work will be completed with short, minimal disruptions to traffic. Allstates Pavement Recycling and Stabilization will be completing this work and plan to begin work September 14th and hope to be completed by September 27th. Road closures and a more detailed schedule will be provided here and on the City's Facebook page as that information becomes available.

City Project 220201 – Water Main Replacement

Project consists of the replacement of an existing cast iron water main with new poly pipe along 10th St NW, 11th St NW, 12th St NW & 13th St NW between College Dr N and 4th Ave NW. Kemper Construction began work on this project in 2022 and completed work along 10th St NW and 11th St NW. Kemper Construction will be completing the remainder of this work this summer and will be providing temporary water services to affected residents during the water main replacement process. Affected residents will be notified as the project progresses. Crews began work along 12th St NW on May 25th and completed all water main work along 12th St NW & 13th St NW on July 14th. All project work is completed and is awaiting final inspection and payment.by mid-August.

City Project 230201 – Water Main Replacement

Project consists of the replacement of an existing cast iron water main with new poly pipe along 2nd St NE from 6th Ave NE to 12th Ave NE, 3rd St SE from College Dr N to 3rd Ave SE, 4th St SE from College Dr N to 6th Ave SE, 5th St SE from 5th Ave SE to 8th Ave SE, 6th St SE from 6th Ave SE to 8th Ave SE, 6th Ave SE from 5th St SE to 4th St SE, 7th Ave SE from 5th St SE to 3rd St SE and 8th Ave SE from 7th St SE to 5th St SE. Kemper Construction will be completing the work and will be providing temporary water services to affected residents during the water main replacement. Affected residents will be notified as the project progresses. This project has a final completion date of Fall 2024. Crews began work on 2nd St NE from 6th Ave NE to 8th Ave NE on August 17th and completed this work on September 5th. Crews plan to begin work on the next stretch of 2nd St NE from 8th Ave NE to 10th Ave NE next. Expect some road closures at 2nd St NE/10th Ave NE as this work progresses.

City Project 230301 – Storm Sewer Improvements

Construction crews will be completing the installation of storm sewer along 13th Ave SE and between 15th St SE and 16th St SE to help improve drainage in the Stromquist area. The project was bid last summer, but was rejected due to high bids and re-bid this spring. DL Barkie Construction will be completing the work this summer and all work will take place in the public right of way and City utility easements, which will cause minimal disruptions to traffic or adjacent properties. Crews began work on this project on July 17th and have installed nearly 1500 LF of concrete pipe as of August 1st. Crews completed the pipe installation and site grading on August 21st. Additional work is to be completed on the roadway and curb & gutter along 14th St SE.
